Job Type: Remote, 1099 Independent Contractor (Per Diem, Freelance-Friendly)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Per Diem Patient RCM Collection Specialist (1099 Consultant) to assist with patient outreach and payment plan coordination. This position is perfect for a freelancer or independent contractor looking for a flexible, supplemental income. The primary responsibilities include contacting patients regarding outstanding balances and setting up appropriate payment arrangements to ensure timely collections. Work hours are up to 10 hours per month, providing flexibility while allowing you to utilize your expertise in medical collections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact patients regarding outstanding balances by phone.
• Discuss payment options and establish appropriate payment plans based on financial need and company guidelines.
• Provide clear explanations of patient financial responsibilities, including      insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
• Document all communication and payment plan agreements in the billing system.
• Follow up with patients on scheduled payments and address any concerns or questions.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations while handling patient financial information.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patient collections and medical billing.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance verification, and patient      financial responsibility.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage patient interactions with professionalism and empathy.

Schedule & Compensation:

• 1099 Independent Contractor position (Per Diem, as needed), up to 10 hours per month.
