Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Medical Biller to join our growing revenue cycle management team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the complete billing cycle, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and optimizing revenue flow for private practices. Duties
- Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Ensure all billing documentation aligns with medical records, including detailed coding for procedures and diagnoses
- Accurately apply CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes to claims for proper reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients
- Maintain comprehensive records of medical billing activities, including logs of submissions, payments, adjustments, and collections
- Collaborate with medical staff to clarify billing details and resolve discrepancies swiftly
- Stay updated on industry regulations, coding changes, and payer policies to ensure ongoing compliance and maximize revenue
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar medical office billing role with a strong understanding of medical coding principles
- Knowledge of DRG (plus), CPT/HCPCS coding, and ICD-10 coding systems used in healthcare billing processes
- Demonstrated ability to navigate EMR/EHR systems efficiently for billing purposes
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and insurance claim procedures
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to handle large volumes of claims accurately
- Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and translate it into precise billing entries
- Prior experience in medical collections and working with various payers is highly desirable
- Experience with behavioral health, hospital and home healthcare billing a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Must be able to handle more than one small practice account.
- Must be available during the day for accounts receivables payer follow up
- Must live and able to work in the United States.
